{diy} Easy Spray Paint Picture Frame Project

I don’t post that many craft projects on this blog, although I do a fair amount of crafting. This one was easy and turned out pretty well so I thought I would share it. I had a vision of white picture frame ledges on a white wall with frames in varying shades of gold and cream. After a relatively cheap and easy project, I was really happy with the end result:

I bought a bunch of cheap frames from Ikea, Ross, and a thrift store. It didn’t matter what color or material because I was going to spray paint them anyway. Some were wood, some were metal, some were plastic. I got three different shades of spray paint – a gold, a mustard, and a dark cream color. I laid the frames out on the lawn and sprayed them with a few coats of paint.

I spent around $40 total on the frames and about $12 on the spray paint. The prints, which I ordered from Shutterfly, were around $5 total since most were standard sized, but there were a few larger 8×10 prints, too. I chose the paint colors because they go so well with my hot pink and gold Aphro Chic wallpaper on the perpendicular wall. I decided to make black and white prints of family photos because I thought it would look better.

A smashing success!
