{make this} Brown Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

I haven’t blogged in approximately 45 years (or so it feels like) and I am back now with a half-assed post exalting the virtues of a recipe from someone else. In between getting the flu, getting over the flu, getting a cold, and (still trying to) get over a cold, I have actually had some stellar culinary moments, but I have not had the energy to do anything except eat the results. But as the last of the germs leave my body (I hope) I am turning over a new leaf, and today I made these cookies and I’m guessing they’ll be gone by morning.

They are not too far off of a standard, really good, chewy chocolate chip cookie, but they have some oats, cinnamon, and browned butter to make them extra special. Some commenters seemed to have trouble with the recipe, but it’s hard for me to see how since I thought it was pretty straightforward. If you have trouble though, do read the comments on the post because there are some helpful fixes noted in the thread.

No, MY biggest problem with the recipe was letting my toddler son (also sick with a cold, so getting a little spoiled today) eat a warm cookie full of gooey chocolate chips. Thank god for Oxi-Clean.
