{the unkitchen} Kitchen Remodel Phase 3 – Kind of Almost Maybe a Kitchen?

Exciting things are afoot in the world of kitchen remodeling. Cabinets are in… it’s kind of almost maybe a kitchen!

Our floors are hardwood already, but they are a really janky yellowy color and they are horribly scratched up. The floors in the kitchen/living room are currently covered with paper because they’ve been sanded and refinished, a process that was far less intrusive or painful than I expected. Which is frankly terrific news, because we have 2 more phases of that process to get the floors throughout the whole house redone. I can’t show you the new color, which is beautiful and lovely and warm and brings out the grain of the wood in a fantastic way and is surely going to increase my day-to-day happiness and well-being by a significant percentage… because of the aforementioned paper. But here is the old color.

Appliances next week, more floor sanding, and countertops the week after. Paint is being applied as I type. This is getting good!
